The 7405 is�a Hexagonal Inverter with�open collector�outputs, six independent inverters and LS technology. To perform correctly, the open-collector outputs require pull-up resistors. These devices may be connected to other open-collector outputs to implement active-low wired-OR or active-high wire-AND functions.
